High-availability cluster design

RC18015xs+ and RXD1215sas are specifically designed to work together as a high-availability cluster — requiring two RC18015xs+ and at least one RXD1215sas expansion unit. By combining the two computing servers and multiple storage units into a single high-availability cluster, RC18015xs+ and RXD1215sas deliver unyielding reliability and data availability. With the active/passive structure, services are automatically switched over to one server if the other unexpectedly goes offline, helping your business avoid costly downtime.

Up to fifteen RXD1215sas can be connected to the dual RC18015xs+ computing nodes, accommodating massive scalability up to 180 drives and maximum raw storage beyond 1PB. RC18015xs+ delivers superior performance of over 2,270 MB/s throughput and 355,400 IOPS when using dual 10GbE connections bonded with Link Aggregation4. Equipped with 8GB ECC RAM (upgradeable up to 32GB), the RC18015xs+ ensures enterprise-level data accuracy and speed for your mission critical tasks.

Hardware redundancy enhances system uptime

In addition to the active/passive architecture, RC18015xs+ is equipped with redundant hardware components, such as power supply units, internal system fans, and LAN ports. In the event of component failure, the system continues operating normally while replacement parts are obtained and installed.

Ready for the 10GbE generation

In addition to the default four Gigabit Ethernet ports (plus one dedicated port for the Heartbeat), RC18015xs+ comes with one PCI Express 3.0 x8 slot (running at x8 mode), accommodating installation of one 10GbE network interface card (NIC) for maximized bandwidth.

RC18015xs+ provides seamless storage solutions for virtualization environments, including VMware, Citrix, and Microsoft Hyper-V. With VMware vSphere® 5 & VAAI integration, RC18015xs+ helps offload specific storage operations and optimizes computation power in VMware environments. Windows ODX support speeds up data manipulation as the data transfer is offloaded. iSCSI also lets SMB users consolidate storage into data center storage arrays while providing hosts with the illusion of locally-attached disks.

RC18015xs+ enables businesses to cost-effectively manage multi-protocol data by integrating file-level (NAS) and block-level (SAN) storage into one unified storage system. Security Advisor analyzes system settings, password strength, network preferences and removes any possible malware. AppArmor blocks malicious programs from accessing unauthorized system resources. You can also customize the trust level in Package Center to avoid installing packages from untrusted sources, safeguarding your NAS from unknown or tampered files. In addition, RC18015xs+ provides other security add-ons, such as AES encryption, 2-Step verification, IP block & allow list, Antivirus packages, firewall, and DoS attack prevention
